Data Dictionaries
The Pathways Study includes data collected directly from study participants via in-person, mailed, or telephone interviews; genotype and biospecimen assay data; and data from linkages to clinical and administrative healthcare databases, environmental exposure databases, and geospatial and neighborhood-level data. Many of our data dictionaries are available in the searchable table below, and this information can be downloaded directly to your computer. Please check back here often as new data dictionaries become available. | Main Questionnaire 1 | Baseline | Contains raw participant level demographic information, such as date of birth, race and ethnicity, and country of origin for both the participant and family members. | Main Questionnaire 2 | Baseline | Contains raw participant level information on use of birth control, hormone replacement therapy, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements. It also contains information on consumption of organic foods. | Physiology of Aging Questionnaire | Baseline | Contains raw participant level information on participants' ability to complete mobility exercises. | Cancer Registry | Baseline | Contains tumor, patient, and treatment characteristics for Pathways Study participants. These data come from the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Cancer Registry, which also reports data for public health surveillance purposes to the California Cancer Registry, and to the San Francisco Bay Area and Greater California Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End-Results (SEER) Program of the National Cancer Institute (NCI). | dd_cancerregistry.zip |
