Data Request Instructions

To do so, please follow these steps:

1. Familiarize yourself with the Pathways publications and biospecimen policies.
2. Review Pathways published manuscripts and funded ancillary and related studies to learn more about what has already been accomplished.
3. Review the Pathways data documentation page to review our baseline questionnaires and data dictionaries.
4. Review a comprehensive list of all data domains collected on the Pathways Study.
5. Visit the Pathways Data Portal to explore and request study data. Account registration required.
6. The Pathways Steering Committee typically meets on a monthly basis to review new proposals.
7. Following the review, we will communicate their decision to you. (e.g., approval, request for clarifications, etc.).
8. If clarifications are requested, email your responses to the Pathways email address (dor-pathways@kp.org). We will share your responses with the Pathways Steering Committee and request full approval.

Once approved...

9. Upon receiving your project proposal, we will confirm your IRB status and initiate a data sharing agreement (if needed).
10. Once IRB approval is received and data sharing agreement executed, your dataset will be made available for download via the Data Portal.
11. Please use the Pathways manuscript checklist as a guide.
12. We may ask that you share analysis updates at our monthly Pathways Data Analysis meetings.
13. Circulate any results, grant applications and/or draft manuscripts to co-investigators and co-authors.
14. Notify Pathways Study team upon acceptance of grant, abstracts accepted for conference presentations or journal publications.
15. For published manuscripts, send to the Pathways email address a completed Pathways Final Manuscript Form, de-identified dataset(s) used to produce the results in the manuscript, well documented programming code, and documentation as outlined in the 2nd page of the Pathways Final Manuscript Form, within 30 days of acceptance of manuscript.
